The DEVCO Project (7 story, 199 apartments plus retail/office space) at Pacific and Grand is being reviewed by the Historical Commission (for the second time) thisTuesday, February 23 at 6:30pm.
There are a number of concerns and design issues that were discussed at the last Historical Commission meeting and at the Port Gardner Neighborhood meeting. These issues address where the DEVCO design does not adhere to the current Historical guidelines for the buildings in the Historical Overlay including: 1.) allowing a visible 2 story parking garage along Grand Avenue 2.). lack of building modulation down the hill and along street level 3.). lack of required pitched roofs 4.) intrusion of decking into required setbacks.
